Accutronics showcasing smart batteries at electronica 2016

Professional battery manufacturer Accutronics will be exhibiting its range of high performance smart batteries for portable and handheld devices at electronica in Munich, Germany, 8–11 November, 2016.

Accutronics will be exhibiting alongside its parent company Ultralife Corporation, battery and energy and communications specialist who acquired Accutronics earlier this year.

Electronica is a trade fair for electronic components, systems and applications, attracting around 2,700 exhibitors and 73,000 visitors from all over the globe.

“Our experience has shown us that many design engineers consider a device's power source too late in the design process,” explained Neil Oliver, technical marketing at Accutronics. “At electronica, we will be exhibiting our bespoke engineering service, which can help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to get around this problem. Electronics engineers can come to us with their specific requirements and we can create batteries to fit their products, using our in-house testing capabilities to ensure a sustainable and reliable solution.

“Through our extensive research and development capability, we have created a range of smart batteries which offer features such as state-of-charge indicators and algorithmic security to protect the devices against counterfeit batteries. The Entellion range, which we will also be exhibiting at electronica, is our range of off-the-shelf smart batteries. These can be easily integrated into devices with minimal effort and cost. The range also includes the CMX Series, a high voltage and high power battery ideal for where power requirements are growing.”

In addition to the products Accutronics will be exhibiting, its parent company, Ultralife, will also be exhibiting a range of off-the-shelf cells and batteries.

“We’ll have a range of cells and batteries from Ultralife on display including our Lead Acid Replacement batteries," explained Bernd Rosati, European Sales Manager at Ultralife. "Ultralife LiFePO4 batteries are three times lighter than lead acid batteries of the same energy. By replacing your lead acid batteries with our LiFePO4 batteries, you’ll significantly reduce the weight of your existing system or get three times the energy if weight reduction isn’t a factor.”
