Aerospace manufacturing flies high in August
Year to date delivers are just 1% behind the record levels we saw in 2015. Industry is focussed on stepping up production in response to growing order backlogs, which currently stand at 13,402, worth £210bn to the UK.
Single-aisle production levels increased 23% compared with August 2015 and indicates a smooth transition to the new fuel efficient aircraft demanded by airlines. Engine deliveries are also up on the previous year with a rise of 11 per cent for August 2016.
