AJW Aviation awarded ISO18001 and ISO14001 certification

AJW Aviation has achieved another milestone by being awarded the ISO18001 for Health & Safety Management Systems and ISO14001 certification for Environmental Management Systems by the International Standards Organisation (ISO)

These certifications come less than a year after the Company’s state-of-the-art Headquarters opened for business.

Close to Gatwick airport, the enormous site of over 60 acres supports a facility of nearly a quarter of a million square feet which has been uniquely designed from the ground up to provide staff and visitors with the ultimate energy saving and green working environment.

The rural location creates an outstanding backdrop for the eye-catching design and provides a campus-style office environment for AJW’s staff, some of whom are present on site 24/7 to manage the Company’s award winning AOG service for aircraft spare parts.

“The positive comments received are a testament to the truly exceptional facility and its strong team of 300 staff” explains Deryck Stokes, Quality and Health & Safety Manager at AJW.

“Excellent remarks were also received for the standards the Company has achieved and the dedication of all our Health and Safety Representatives, First Aiders, Fire Officers and Fire Marshals. Departments carrying the highest risks comply with the most comprehensive programmes across all Health, Safety and Environmental activities. Maintaining our position as the world’s leading integrated aircraft support provider requires us to keep one step ahead and ensure that rigorous adherence to all quality standards is managed with the utmost efficiency and transparency.”

Andy Smith, operations director at AJW said: “These certifications highlight everyone’s commitment to our Quality Management Programme. They demonstrate to customers, suppliers and employees that AJW not only recognises that its employees are its most important asset, but it is also committed to ensuring that the highest possible standards in Health, Safety & Welfare are maintained. We take our responsibility towards reducing the impact of humans on the environment very seriously. Protection of flora and fauna on site is a high priority where solar panels provide 7,772.61kWh of energy annually. Acoustic fencing surrounding the car park prevents noise pollution and rainwater is harvested in massive underground tanks to provide useful grey water.”
