Frazer-Nash awarded A400M Atlas contract

The MoD has awarded engineering consultancy Frazer-Nash a new contract to support the Engineering Authority of its new A400M Atlas military aircraft.

As the aircraft nears entry into service, the Engineering Authority team is required to develop processes and procedures, covering both airworthiness and safety, to enable the aircraft to be operated through life and to meet the Type Airworthiness Authority responsibilities.

This contract will also see the team at Frazer-Nash developing plans to help enable A400M operations, including drafting of Configuration Management, System Integrity, Structural Integrity, and Propulsion Integrity plans.

Andrew Chadwick, of Frazer Nash Consultancy, said: “We are working closely with the MoD project team to develop and refine the processes and procedures that will be required from day one of entry into service.

“They will interface closely with those of the MoD’s industrial partners to help ensure seamless support for the aircraft.”

Frazer-Nash which works with clients across a range of sectors including defence, aerospace, power, industry and transport, offer services across the complete project lifecycle ranging from research to modelling studies, through to in-service support and life extension.
