BIAS 2014: ADS Group welcomes launch of GREAT British Week in Bahrain

A number of UK aerospace companies are at the third Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS), where they are helping to celebrate the 200th anniversary of bilateral relations between the UK and Bahrain and participate in GREAT British Week - which will be run from 15th to 22nd January and showcase the long-standing business links between the two countries.

The Bahrain International Airshow, hosted in association with Farnborough International Ltd, (an ADS subsidiary), is a biennial show that last time attracted more than 20,000 trade visitors from 35 countries.

Paul Everitt, chief executive of aerospace trade association, ADS Group said: “The Bahrain International Airshow is a gateway to increasingly important markets across the Middle East and is becoming more popular with UK and international businesses.

“UK aerospace companies are supporting customers around the world. They have proven skills, experience and technology to meet the most demanding global challenges. We are looking forward to showcasing our world-leading capability to prospective customers over the next few days.”

The UK aerospace sector is the second largest in the world. The industry specialises in the design and manufacture of some of the most sophisticated and high value parts of modern aircraft and, with the joint support of Government and industry through the Aerospace Growth Partnership, the sector is well placed to take advantage of significant growth opportunities due to increased global demand.

In addition, the recently formed Defence Growth Partnership is working to develop an implementation plan for its strategic vision, released in September 2013. The Partnership has identified the air defence sector as a real asset for the UK, offering good prospects for growth particularly with good knowledge sharing between the civil and defence sectors.
