The conference was opened by Mark King, president civil aerospace, Rolls-Royce, followed by a keynote speech by Mark Prisk, minister of state for business and enterprise.  Also on the panel were Tom Williams, executive VP programmes, Airbus, Alberto Di Benedictis, CEO Finmeccanica, Marcus Bryson, CEO GKN Aerospace and He Dong Feng, CEO COMA.

Speaking at the conference, Prisk said: "I genuinely believe this is a sector that has a big future. But it will not be easy. You only have to walk around this show to see the range of competition coming up. But I think together, government with industry, we can come through this."
