Defexpo 2014: MS instruments secures more Indian exports

MS Instruments plc - which has had a long and successful relationship with India, supplying the market for over 30 years - has secured further success to coincide with Defexpo 2014, having been selected to supply high speed imaging equipment worth around £210,000.

Working with its partners in-country, SG Marketing Pvt Ltd, it has achieved many notable successes supplying its live-fire training and ballistic instrumentation systems which continue to this day.

At the beginning of 2014 the Company had engineers in-country helping to set up an ammunition test facility that had just purchased its equipment. These engineers are an example of the Company’s ongoing commitment to provide expert and first class support to its Indian customers. In the last year, the company has secured seven major orders from India worth in the region of £1.4m.

Away from India, MS Instruments recently supplied the latest version of its air to ground strafe scoring training system to a Central American customer and has just secured a follow-on order for two more systems with another order expected in FY 2014/15 from the same customer. In total, this package is worth in excess of $500,000.

The system is the latest version of the equipment that has been in-service on all the UK’s RAF Air Weapons Ranges for almost 20 years and also in India for over five years. In its latest guise it is attracting interest from all over the world; a South East Asian customer is currently looking very seriously at procuring the equipment.

As well as live-fire training systems, the other main area of business for the Company is in the forensic and ballistic instrumentation field, and over half the orders in this field have been for its highly successful Automated Flight Follower, which is also in use in India. This system films and records high speed projectiles travelling in excess of Mach2 in exceptional detail, enabling quick and effective fault-finding for manufacturers and test houses.

Managing director, Paul Everington, said: “MS Instruments is proud and privileged to be a supplier to and associated with the Indian Armed Forces and the Indian Government. We look forward to many more years of providing reliable, accurate and affordable products to your country and working with you to help you achieve your aims.”
