Jankel wins contract to supply prison custodial vehicles

Jankel has received its first contract through the Crown Commercial Service to provide custom vehicles to the prison service.

An undisclosed number of eight and 12 cell custodial vehicles are being supplied for an urgent requirement as part of the agreement, with Jankel providing a rapid production capability. The first vehicles are set to be delivered in March 2014.

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is a framework providing efficiency and savings for the UK public sector. Jankel is one of just a handful of preferred suppliers specialising in vehicle conversions, electrical integration and specialist trailers. Jankel provide to government agencies under competitive tender through the framework.

Jankel is a family-owned company founded in the UK 58 years ago by Robert Jankel. The armoured vehicle specialist has an international presence with facilities in the UK, US and Jordan.
