Atkins appoints Air Commodore Chris Jones to its defence business

Design, engineering and project management company Atkins has appointed Chris Jones as client director for capability alignment within its defence business.

Chris (right) joins Atkins on retirement from the Royal Air Force where his most recent appointment at the rank of Air Commodore (one star) was Head of Capability for C4ISR in Joint Forces Command (MOD). In this role he led a team that planned future joint enabling capability and managed the delivery of information, intelligence, cyber and training systems for defence.

In his new role at Atkins, Chris will initially focus on aligning Atkins’ support to the single service Front Line Commands, Joint Forces Command and MoD Head Office, drawing upon his extensive experience and in-depth understanding of their requirements.

He brings with him a wealth of experience and his invaluable insight into the needs and challenges faces by the Front Line Commands will really help us in providing support to the MoD.”
