Aviation Iran to take place in Dubai in March 2016

A new event exploring opportunities for the global aerospace industry in a post-sanctions Iran will take place in Dubai, UAE on 2 & 3 March 2016.

This conference and exhibition will explore what this unprecedented boom for the region could mean. The exhibition will offer networking opportunities for those companies looking to capitalise on this new market.

The UAE as a regional business, trade and financial hub will significantly gain from Iran’s opening. Holding the first Aviation Iran in Dubai will further develop the trade between these two countries, where Dubai has grown their GDP largely from aviation, Iran will gain from knowledge, expertise and potential partnerships.

The aviation sector is ripe for regeneration. It has more than 15 commercial and cargo airlines and more than 300 airports serving both domestic and international destinations.

During the period of sanctions the country has witnessed a number of air disasters that have plagued the aviation sector but these have been directly attributable to dilapidated fleets.

The lifting of sanctions will rejuvenate the aviation industry and provide a number of economic and social incentives. It is expected to lead to the creation of much-needed jobs for the local population; the re-appropriation of passenger volumes lost to regional and European carriers; and a boost to the domestic and international tourism sectors that would in turn create opportunities in the Iranian hospitality sector.

It could also lead to new market prospects for makers of airport facilities equipment. Upgrades to ar traffic control systems would help to improve efficiency, reduce congestion, and lower the risk of accidents in Iranian airspace, while new security systems would help mitigate threats to international civil aviation.

The Iranian government recognises the importance of its aviation sector and has said that when sanctions are lifted it would support the purchase of at least 400 new aircraft . Airbus and Boeing are reportedly already discussing potential sales with Iranian authorities.

“If sanctions are lifted on Iran and the country opens up, it will make a difference – the size of the difference I don’t know. There is a lot of demand.” Captain Ken Gile, COO, FlyDubai.

Times Aerospace Events, organiser of the already successful Aviation Africa series, brings you this new event, looking at an additional market with significant growth potential.

Alan Peaford (right), Editor-in-Chief of Arabian Aerospace magazine, part of Times Aerospace group and chairman of the conference, said: “We recognise the need for discussions, key topics and serious debate about how to help grow and develop this new market.

"Our role for the conference will be to invite heads of Iranian airlines, airports and authorities to present and discuss requirements and opportunities”

The event takes place at Le Meridien Hotel & Conference Centre, Dubai, UAE on 2nd and 3rd March 2016. Visit www.aviationiran.aero for more information when it is available. Follow the event on twitter @aviationiran
