BAE Systems and EMTEQ partner on IntelliCabin

BAE Systems and EMTEQ have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on IntelliCabin, an integrated cabin management system, for commercial aircraft original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and airline interiors modifications markets.

The two companies’ complementary capabilities will result in increased value and innovation for new and existing airline customers, as well as aircraft OEMs.
 
“BAE Systems prides itself on its history of excellence and innovation in high-integrity avionics and controls,” said Dr. Ehtisham Siddiqui, vice president and general manager of commercial aircraft solutions at BAE Systems. “By joining forces with EMTEQ, an innovator of lighting solutions and cabin connectivity, we will be able to present a highly integrated ‘cabin of the future’ to the industry.”

BAE Systems’ IntelliCabin, which is currently in development, will seamlessly integrate all cabin  functions to create a unique, premium traveler experience for all, while freeing the crew to better serve passengers. BAE Systems has expertise in designing, certifying, producing, and servicing complete cabin management systems. EMTEQ specialises in the design, development, and production of cabin lighting and power products, and achieving supplemental certifications for those products. The company employs more than 500 people in The United States, Canada, Brazil, and Switzerland.

BAE Systems is a leader in high-integrity flight and engine controls, and cabin and flight-deck systems. Every second, a flight takes off enabled by its flight critical systems. Today, more than 1,000 Boeing 777s and 300 737s with Boeing Sky Interior fly with BAE Systems’ cabin systems.
