Boeing KC-46 completes flutter tests
Flutter testing is a prime requisite for aircraft capabilities testing. Successful completion of flutter testing enables an expanded flight envelope and the ability to safely put more crew on board for further testing. The KC-46 flutter tests included the Wing Aerial Refuelling Pods (WARP) and a stowed refuelling boom.
The KC-46 WARP and CDS refuelling systems are based upon Cobham’s latest generation refuelling systems as well as Cobham’s proven legacy equipment.
The RP-910E-75 WARP is based upon Cobham’s fifth generation 900E electric architecture and represents the most advanced refuelling systems in operation today. The FR-600-84MDR CDS
integrates Cobham’s proven hydraulic architecture with the latest digital controls to provide a reliable and cost effective centreline system.
