Boeing ups Dreamliner production rate
The airplane, which rolled out earlier this week, is the 114th 787 to be built overall and the 100th 787 to be built at Boeing's Everett, Washington, factory (click on above image to view video ).

“I'm extremely proud of the focus this team has demonstrated,” said Larry Loftis, vice president and general manager of the 787 programme. “We’ve faced some challenges this year, but the team members have kept their heads down and executed the plan. Production health continues to improve, and we remain on track to increase our production rate to 10 per month by year-end.”
The programme production rate accounts for airplanes built in Boeing South Carolina, Everett Final Assembly and the Temporary Surge Line in Everett.
“We reached this milestone because of the ownership our teams are taking in their daily work,” said Gary McCulley, director of 787 Final Assembly operations. “It’s fun to watch this group – they manage their work, track their metrics and work together when confronted with issues. I have absolute confidence in everyone on our team.”
To date, 50 787s have been delivered to eight airlines. The programme has more than 800 unfilled orders with 58 customers worldwide.
