Bond enters Australian market with major contract

Bond Helicopters Australia Pty Ltd (Bond) announced today that it has won a competitive tender for the award of a multi-million dollar, five-year contract with the PTTEP Australasia Group of Companies (PTTEP), part of Thailand's national petroleum exploration and production company, making it Bond's first major contract in the region.

This contract marks the company’s entry into one of the fastest growing offshore markets in the world.

Bond will provide three Eurocopter EC225 helicopters to support PTTEP’s operations in the Timor Sea. Flight operations are scheduled to begin in November 2013, from Mungalalu-Truscott, Western Australia.

Bond was established to provide turn-key offshore helicopter services to support oil and gas companies in Australia. It is part of the Avincis Group of companies, a world-leading provider of mission critical aerial services. The Group has a strong presence in the North and Mediterranean seas, where it has decades of experience serving blue-chip oil & gas companies, particularly through its Aberdeen-based subsidiary Bond Offshore Helicopters. In 2012, the Group transported 175,900 oil and gas passengers.

John Boag, managing director, Bond Helicopters Australia, said: “We are very excited to be working with PTTEP. This our first contract in the region, and I look forward to continuing to build our business in one of the world’s fastest growing oil and gas markets. Bond has a long history of serving the offshore oil and gas market in Europe and we will use that experience to ensure we provide PTTEP with a safe and operationally excellent service.”

We are delighted that PTTEP has chosen Bond Helicopters Australia for the provision of these services. Bond is supported by the global resources and expertise of the Avincis Group, and shares the Group’s commitment to Zero Accidents.”

Avincis already operates in Australia through its subsidiary Australian Helicopters, which provides mission critical helicopter support for a range of services, including air ambulance, search and rescue, law enforcement and marine pilot transfer.
