Chemring to demo SmartLink at B-APCO
If the local commercial cellular infrastructure fails, SmartLink can be deployed in less than three minutes. It delivers a self-contained, secure communications network to share voice, data and video information between emergency services and public safety teams, both on the ground and in command centres. This improves team collaboration and situational awareness, resulting in more effective incident management.
SmartLink’s small form factor, long range and low power consumption has been successfully trialled by organisations in the UK and overseas.
Will Tucker, Product Leader at Chemring Technology Solutions, said: “As the emergency services increasingly use cellular communications, some fear that sharing the airwaves with the general public may lead to service blackouts during major incidents – when they are needed most. SmartLink offers a step-change in communications capability.”
“SmartLink will continue to deliver real time information to those on the ground, when all other communications systems fail. Even in the most remote locations, users have access to all the features of a standard cellular network to maximum collaboration and safety,” concluded Tucker.
