Co-pilot career opportunities at Monarch for CTC Aviation Graduates

When global airline pilot training and resourcing provider CTC Aviation began supplying airlines with newly qualified pilots in 1993, Monarch was the very first to employ their graduates.

Since September 2015, a further 10 graduates have been placed with the airline, with more expected to join throughout 2016. Significantly, half of those placed to date are women. The newly qualified pilots are graduates from the company’s CTC WINGS airline pilot career programme and CTC TAKEOFF professional pilot training courses, as well as the CTC FLEXICREW ATP programme which selects and places pilots who have completed their training with other EASA-approved ATOs.

First Officer Rebecca Cross completed her CTC WINGS Integrated ATPL airline pilot career programme in July 2015 and was placed by CTC Aviation with Monarch Airlines within two months.

Having completed her Airbus A320 type rating training with CTC Aviation in December 2015, Rebecca is now based in Manchester, flying the line across Monarch’s growing network.

Rebecca commented: “When the opportunity at Monarch became available I knew that I wanted to be a part of their team. My training with CTC Aviation included a series of airline preparation days and these really helped me to focus my time and energy on the right areas for my interview. We all have similar qualifications and flying skills, so it is important to let your non-technical skills and previous experience shine through. I can’t wait to start flying with Monarch Airlines; they truly are a great company to work for - you’re definitely not just a number.”

A further six graduates began their Airbus A320 type rating training with CTC Aviation at their Crew Training Centre – Southampton on 19 January 2016 and will be ready for operational flying on the airline’s Airbus A320 fleet by March 2016.

Ken Gillespie, Head of Pilot Training for Monarch commented: “CTC Aviation is an important part of our operation. Whenever we have a requirement for pilots, we can rely on them to support our type-rating training requirements. We are in the early stages of preparing for the arrival of a new fleet, and will be focussed on ensuring we have the right talent in our flight decks. CTC Aviation has been a great partner to us for many years.”

Eugene Hayes, Deputy Head of Pilot Training for Monarch added: “We’ve been associated with CTC Aviation since their inception 25 years ago and many of today’s training and management pilots at Monarch are CTC Aviation graduates.”

CTC Aviation’s employment success rate for their graduates remains industry leading; they maintain a co-pilot placement record of 98%. In 2015 alone, 272 graduates launched exciting flying careers with CTC Aviation’s Airline Partners including Monarch, as well as British Airways, BA CityFlyer, easyJet, Flybe and Thomas Cook Airlines.

CTC Aviation offers a number of routes to the flight deck for aspiring pilots; for those with little or no flying experience, to frozen ATPL holders – all designed with a common aim: to launch a commercial flying career.
