Cristanini CBRN decontamination used on aircraft carrying suspected Ebola patient

On 10th October, at Galeão Airport in Rio de Janeiro the Brazilian 1st CBRN Battalion of Defence carried out the decontamination of the external and internal parts of an aircraft which had travelled from the Brazilian State of Paraná conveying a patient suspected of being infected by the Ebola virus.

They used Cristanini S.p.A CBRN Decontamination equipment and products during the successful operation, which included.
• RI/CBRN Trailer with BX24 for the external parts of the plane
• LVD-X for the decontamination of interior of the aircraft
• SX34 for the cockpit, electronic and sensitive devices.

The Brazilian Ground Operation Control Authority ordered the timely intervention and the Battalion, which carried out effective, full decontamination of the aircraft’s interior, exterior and area where the aircraft had been positioned.

The decontamination operation allowed the aircraft to safely return to full operational service and fly back to Brasilia.
