David Cameron visits Kelvin Hughes
Addressing a large group of Kelvin Hughes employees assembled in the production area of their HQ and manufacturing facility, David Cameron gave a 30 minute campaign speech in which one of his themes was the importance of apprenticeships to the UK economy.
In 2014, Kelvin Hughes launched its Apprenticeship Academy, an initiative that built on the company’s sustained record of recruiting apprentices since the 1980s. A number of the most senior staff, including CEO Russell Gould, joined Kelvin Hughes in apprenticeship positions.
Accompanied by a press entourage of over 30 journalists, David Cameron also answered questions from the production floor on a number of election issues, including the most recent economic figures.
