Deep-Secure revealed as HM Government cyber security supplier

Deep-Secure proudly announced today that it is a supplier of cyber security products to the UK Government.

The company is one of a number of specialist cyber businesses that can now advertise the fact that their products are tried, tested and trusted by the UK government.

Deep-Secure, an SME based in cyber valley in Worcestershire, will be able to use the UK government’s logo and will appear on a list of cyber suppliers to Government on the .Gov website.

Cyber security suppliers to the government will be able to reference this fact publically, for example when they are pursuing business overseas. This has not been possible previously for a number of reasons, including confidentiality clauses in government contracts.

The Cyber Security Suppliers Scheme is an initiative by the new Cyber Growth Partnership, a joint industry and government group established to help support the growth of the UK cyber security industry, with an emphasis on increasing exports. Businesses in the scheme can show that they supply cyber security products and services to the UK government and use the government logo in their marketing material.

In today’s world with cyber security breaches and attacks on the rise there is a growing demand for proven and effective products to help organisations better defend themselves. The government logo will help companies like Deep-Secure demonstrate that their products are trusted at the highest levels.
Deep-Secure CEO Robin King described the scheme as “great news.”

“This scheme is very welcome. We have always been very proud to be product suppliers to HM Government but have been somewhat constrained from being able to promote ourselves as such. The scheme will help us better reference the work our products do to protect an organisations most valuable data. We are already seeing a growing appetite for our products overseas and this initiative from BIS will help make this growth easier.”

The scheme is administered by the Department for Business, Innovation and skills and is intended to support UK companies in developing export opportunities worldwide in cyber security. It is open to all cyber security companies who have a current contract for the supply of cyber security products and services to government, either direct or through a third party supplier such as a prime contractor.

The Cyber Growth Partnership is composed of representatives from academia, Government and Industry. The partnership works on behalf of the wider industry to increase exports, develop the UK’s offer and brand for overseas markets and promote skills, research and innovation. The partnership is co-chaired by the Minister for Universities and Science the Rt Hon Greg Clark MP and the CEO of BT Group Gavin Patterson.
