DIMDEX 2014: Scot Seat KPM Marine team with TenCate on armour protected seats

TenCate Advanced Armour have developed a lightweight composite bullet proof armour system for the Scot Seats range of jockey and helmsman seats to protect occupants from enemy attack, the first of which Scot Seats is exhibiting at the Doha International Defence Exhibition & Conference (DIMDEX), 25-27 March.

The seats will be coated in TenCate Rosist Environmental Protection; a specialist coating that provides protective panels with to shield from all harsh elements, exposure, chemicals and against specific weapon effects. Other solutions can be tailored to suit customers’ requirements. The seats will confirm to Standard Threat Level protection STANAG level 1 4569 7.62 x 51 Nato Ball, 5.56 x 45 SS109 & 5.56 x 45 M193.

The Royal Navy’s latest Astute Class submarine has been officially named at BAE Systems’ Submarines site in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. Agamemnon - named after the ancient Greek king - is the sixth of seven Astute submarines being built by the Company. She is due to be launched later this year, ahead of being commissioned into the Royal Navy.
