Exova wins long term agreement with Böhler

Exova Group plc, the global testing, calibration and advisory services provider, has signed a five-year long term agreement with Böhler Schmiedetechnik GmbH. The new contract extends a relationship spanning more than a decade.

The deal will see Exova provide material testing programmes on high grade forged aerospace alloy components for use in aircraft engines and structural airframes.

The testing will be conducted at Exova’s aerospace laboratory in Plzeň, Czech Republic and will include fatigue and fracture mechanics and a range of specialist metallurgical and mechanical testing.

Florian Humer, strategic procurement external services manager for Böhler commented: “The aerospace sector demands the highest quality and technical standards and Exova has proven itself capable of meeting our rigorous testing demands. Extending our relationship supports our work to advance the development and application of specialist aerospace alloys.”

Stuart Abbs, European director of aerospace for Exova said: “The new contract with Böhler underlines Exova’s position as a leading provider of technically demanding services to the aerospace sector. We have made significant investment in the capabilities and capacity of our Plzeň facility ensuring we can meet the current and future needs of Böhler and the global aerospace supply chain.”
