Farsound Aviation enhances procurement team

Farsound Aviation recently made two key appointements as it builds its procurement team in order to meet growing demand from its international customer base.

In July 2014, Farsound Aviation took the important step of appointing Jonathan Medhurst (above left) as Procurement Director with overall responsibility for developing and managing the company’s global supplier relationships in order to ensure continuity of supply and competitive pricing for its customers. MCIPS-qualified, Jonathan brought some 15 years’ aerospace distribution experience to the role.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “What impressed me most about Farsound Aviation was the fact that in expanding the company, they were looking for people with a real understanding of the sector. For me, that gave real credibility to their plans. My experience since joining the company has only reinforced my perception that Farsound Aviation really does have the wherewithal to realise its growth strategy”.

The team was further strengthened in March of this year with the recruitment of a new Senior Buyer, Marcus Plummer. Reporting to Jonathan, Marcus’s role is also focused on building supplier relationships, across a defined category of products, whilst also involving contract pricing and data analysis.

With a background of some 15 years in industrial consumables, Marcus commented: “I very much bought in to the Farsound Aviation team’s passion for its business and its marketplace and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to become an integral part of the company’s future.”
