G4S wins international recruitment strategy award

G4S plc - the world's leading security solutions group and one of the world's largest multinational private sector employers - has won the most coveted corporate employer award at this year's Recruiter's Awards for Excellence.

G4S secured the accolade for Best Global/International Recruitment Strategy, against stiff competition from Hertz and Unilever, for its highly innovative and effective direct resourcing strategy. This strategy enables G4S recruiters and hiring managers to recruit staff themselves without the use of third party intermediaries and at a fraction of the cost.

G4S’s approach is underpinned by its suite of local and integrated career centres which enable candidates to search and apply for jobs and join G4S’s candidate community, which in turn provides access to forums, community groups, job seeker resources and a CV/resume builder.

The career centres are highly optimised for search engines and integrated with multiple ATS’s to provide consistent employer brand promotion and a seamless candidate experience. Artificial intelligence matching ensures job seekers are continually matched to the latest opportunities and are suggested to hiring managers as soon as a job is posted.

G4S’s focus on online and social recruiting and innovative home grown research and executive selection solutions, work hand in hand with the career centre which collectively generate 250,000+ absolute unique visitors, 2.4m monthly page views, 33,000+ Facebook likes and savings estimated at over £2.5m in the last 12 months.

Colin Minto, Group Head of Resourcing at G4S, said: “I am once again delighted that G4S’s direct resourcing strategy has been recognised by receiving such a prestigious award. We continue to push the boundaries of what can be achieved in terms of corporate resourcing, which is providing both leading candidate and hiring manager experience and major recruiting efficiencies.

G4S is launching additional local career centres and direct resourcing innovations in USA, Latin America, Israel, Middle East, Europe and India in the coming months, which will drive even further value to the business to support the recruitment of over 200,000 people per annum.

Irene Cowden, Group HR Director, said: “I firmly believe that what we have achieved at G4S is leading edge in terms of corporate resourcing strategy and bringing outstanding benefits internally in terms of cost savings, consistency and efficiencies as well as a truly enhanced experience for our candidates and positive brand promotion.

This has been achieved through the application of innovative technological recruiting solutions which match our business requirements and I am pleased this view is supported by the judges of the Recruiter’s Awards for Excellence.”
