Gama hosts inaugural 'Cirrus Friday' at Fairoaks Airport

Gama Aviation will be holding the inaugural 'Cirrus Friday' event on Friday 28th August at Fairoaks Airport, Surrey.

Gama Aviation has a base at Fairoaks (above) and services more than 20 Cirrus aircraft from the facility every year. The event, which runs between 10am and 4pm, will allow people the chance to get up close to the generation 5 SR22 from Cirrus and talks on issues including engine maintenance and avionics upgrades.

The day will also provide Gama Aviation with the opportunity to celebrate its association with Fairoaks, which is now in its 32nd year. Indeed, the company began operations by providing aircraft charter services out of Fairoaks with one aircraft in 1983.

Duncan Daines, Chief Marketing Officer for Gama Aviation commented: “From our base at Fairoaks we not only maintain and service various fixed wing and rotary platforms, such as Cirrus, but we also have a full aviation design and production team that export worldwide. Between ourselves and McLaren across the runway, we have created an epicentre of design and engineering talent – something that I believe Chobham, Woking and Surrey should be very proud of.”

Fairoaks is an important part of Gama Aviation’s base network which extends across the world from Hong Kong to Van Nuys in California. Specialising in business and private aviation, the Group also works extensively with Government departments including the NHS and Ministry of Defence.

Daines continued: “Our design engineering team have the approvals and the certifications to work on pretty much any aviation platform. One of the most recent projects has been to create a multi-configurable interior for one of our aircraft.”

For those that live in the Chobham area, Fairoaks is a busy airport. Being close to major arterial routes, Heathrow and affluent Surrey neighbourhoods, it is perfectly positioned.

Liam Salt, Engineering Manager for Gama Aviation at Fairoaks, commented: “Our clients at Fairoaks are regular flyers who want to have their aircraft ready to go when the weather is suitable. Our job is to make sure that happens as we can pretty much take care of every eventuality under one roof – anything from avionics upgrades, airframe maintenance, engine inspections or advanced modifications – we have it all here.”

Gama Aviation is a long-time supporter and service provider for Cirrus, which is one of the most advanced general aviation platforms in the world. The inaugural Cirrus Friday event will be held between 10am and 4pm on August 28 at Fairoaks Airport, Surrey. The Cirrus range of aircraft are ideal for those who are recently qualified or are considering an upgrade from Piper, Cessna or Mooney or those who simply want to experience modern, general aviation, excellence. Admittance is free and the event is open to flyers and non-flyers alike.
