GKN to showcase thermoplastics and transparencies at NBAA 2016

GKN Aerospace will promote the growing scope of its business aviation activity on at NBAA, from the 1st to the 3rd November, 2016, in Orlando, Florida.

It will present the first ever panoramic window to be offered for a civil jet aircraft. These windows are up to 1.5m long x 0.5m high - larger than three standard cabin windows. They incorporate a demisting capability and are protected by GKN Aerospace’s market leading Crystal Vue II coating.

There will also be a thermoplastic, grid structured fuselage panel demonstrator. This welded, boltless assembly delivers a 10% weight reduction, along with a potential 30% reduction in manufacturing costs, over other composite fuselage solutions.

Our display at NBAA illustrates just some of the new and maturing technologies that will extend the endurance, efficiency and performance of business jets - and that have the potential to revolutionise the way we design and make aircraft in the future.”

Representatives at NBAA will also be available to discuss the company’s extensive wiring systems, aero and engine structures and landing gear capabilities and aftermarket operation.
