IDEX 2013: Innovative drugs and explosives detector launched

An all-new trace drugs and trace explosives detection instrument is being launched at IDEX by Bruker Detection (Stand 05-C10).

Called the DE-tector, it is the company’s latest innovation in non-radioactive IMS instruments and promises ultra-reliability, simple operation and low through-life costs.

The innovative twin tube system enables dual drugs and explosive detection and does not split the sample, meaning no dilution and greater sensitivity.

DE-tector is Bruker’s first benchtop instrument specifically designed for the detection of drugs and explosives and expands the company’s portfolio to cover full spectrum CBRNE detection, identification and monitoring.

The instrument features flexible multi-level software, long life consumables and is safer to use and transport because it is non-radioactive.

The system uses a detachable notebook computer with new smart algorithms and DE-Analysis software that lower false alarm rates dramatically.
