Innovators come together in the Zone

Posted 26 June 2012 · Add Comment

The Innovation Zone - sponsored by Airbus - is a new feature at the Farnborough International Airshow 2012 that will showcase existing and new technologies, connecting the supply and demand sides of innovation, bringing together the funding agencies and the very best Universities all under one roof.

For any business striving to grow and compete on the global market, innovation will be the key differentiator in achieving that competitiveness. The Innovation Zone will highlight the various aspects of innovation that are all vital for success:
• innovative design and manufacturing,
• innovative products and services,
• innovative business models,
• innovative people

Innovation is best achieved through collaborations and partnerships, be they with training providers, funding partners or university R&D collaborators.

All of these players and more will be on show in the ADS Innovation Zone - a vibrant networking hub at the Farnborough International Airshow - helping to connect innovation supply and demand to bring your big ideas to commercial reality. Universities will be showcasing their latest technological developments and high-innovation concepts; the Technology Strategy Board will be promoting a range of programmes that can help support innovative businesses; and the European Research Area will be enabling access to EU research funding. You can even book free meetings with these innovators to deepen the dialogue.

In addition to the interactive exhibits and ample networking opportunities, an Innovation Seminar will take place each day from 1000 to lunchtime. Those visiting the Zone will hear from ACARE about how European aviation research is shaping up beyond 2014, find out about opportunities to collaborate on large scale technology demonstrators through the CleanSky project and learn about international research opportunities within the Horizon2020 programme. These elements will come together to ensure the Innovation Zone is central for all the innovation needs for businesses visiting Farnborough International Airshow 2012.
