Ionbond receives certification from Airbus
Ionbond has been a supplier to Airbus in Europe for a number of years through its coating centre in Chassieu, France. This facility and the NADCAP certified coating centre in Consett, UK, serve as competence and supporting centres for Ionbond's global aerospace activities.
With the planned opening of the first assembly plant in Mobile, Alabama in 2015, Airbus has made a commitment to take aircraft manufacturing to the US with many US manufacturers supplying aircraft components. Having a certified coating operation in the US will assure optimal logistics and shorter delivery times of aircraft components for Airbus.
"The Airbus certification is a result of the extensive efforts by the Greensboro team, with the support from aerospace professionals in Ionbond France and UK," said Val Liebermann, Segment Head Industrial at Ionbond. "We appreciate the trust that Airbus places in Ionbond and are fully committed to providing coating service of the highest standards. It is both an honor and a big responsibility, since the quality requirements in aerospace are among the most stringent," he concluded.
