John McGlynn elected to APM board
John (right) is a director within the design, engineering and project management consultancy’s Defence business and as an elected trustee he will also act as both a company director and charity trustee for APM for a three year term.
John McGlynn said: “APM’s work over the last 40 years has had a real impact on professionalising project management, setting the standard for excellence within the discipline. I’m passionate about continuing this journey by pushing the boundaries of our collective knowledge in the delivery of complex projects. The encouragement I have received from Atkins to take on this responsibility clearly demonstrates the company’s commitment to that aspiration, thereby ensuring effective project delivery for its clients.”
John has 30 years’ experience of delivering projects in Europe and the Middle East and over the last decade has specialised in complex acquisition programmes. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of three institutions (IET, CIPS, APM) and an APM Registered Project Professional (RPP).
John is also co-chair of the joint working group between APM and the UK International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE UK). This group is dedicated to looking at ways in which project managers and system engineers can work together to deliver better project and programme outcomes.
