LJLA sees growth continue

A busy January for Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) helped take passenger numbers for the month to over 320,000 – an increase of 5% compared to January 2016 and the Airport's 24th consecutive month of passenger growth.

The Airport’s recent success began in February 2015 after which time passenger numbers have increased every month for the past two years compared to the same period the year before.

The Airport has seen a growth in passenger numbers, airlines and services over the past two years with annual throughput increasing by over 800,000 passengers.

In that time, 21 new scheduled services have been announced from Liverpool to 19 new destinations as well as seasonal charter flights operated by Thomson and First Choice, Inghams and Newmarket

This year will see the start of 11 new services from Liverpool including additional charter operations by new operators Transun and Balkan Holidays.

Additional capacity on a number of routes including Budapest, Bucharest, Alicante, Malaga, Pisa, Cluj and Katowice contributed towards January’s growth, in addition to larger passenger numbers on flights to and from Belfast and Dublin.
