MAEL makes MRO team appointments
Lee Burgess has been appointed Head of Engineering and Andy Mackay as Head of Maintenance.
The new roles have been created following the resignation of Keith Earnden, Engineering Director who will leave the business in August.
Lee Burgess started his career at Monarch as an aircraft apprentice in 1987, after which he spent 14 years as an aircraft engineer at the Luton facility.
Since then Lee has held a series of management roles within MAEL, the most recent of which was General Manager, Maintenance Planning & Strategy, based at the company’s state-of-the-art hangar facility in Birmingham.
Andy Mackay will join the company on the 14th September. Andy is currently Operations Director and Deputy Accountable Manager for KLM UK Engineering with responsibility for KLM’s base and line maintenance operations at six locations in the UK. Andy is a licensed engineer and has over 20 years’ senior management experience in the MRO business.
Ian Bartholomew, Managing Director for Monarch Aircraft Engineering said: “I would like to thank Keith for his contribution to the business since 2010 and wish him the very best of luck in his new career.
“I am also delighted to announce these new senior leadership appointments at MAEL and would like to take this opportunity of congratulating Lee on his promotion and welcoming Andy to the company. Their wealth of experience and knowledge of the MRO industry will be a huge asset to the business and further supports our highly skilled and talented team at MAEL.”
