Maintenance Technician

Our cleint a multimational manufacturing organisation has a requirement for a maintenance technician to work within their NI facility

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

To ensure that all facilities are maintained in optimum condition in order to meet required standards of safety, efficiency and reliability.

 

In addition to the main esponsibilities and duties the Maintenance Technician is required to:

 

Train other stakeholders, develop SOP’s, PM plans and information systems

Carry out PM & breakdown activities, resolving causes of defects for allocated

cell / area

Deliver sufficient callout support and handovers to ensure reliability & performance of the plants machinery in line with agreed service levels

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

 

To maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times

To  carry out the maintenance and repair of existing machinery including PM, PdM (predictive maintenance tasks), breakdowns etc

Fault diagnosis of electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and PLC control systems

Major overhaul of machinery

Installation of new machinery

Maintain KPI’s for cell

Develop SOP’s in line with Maintenance Trainer requirements

Train Stakeholders

Carry out Project Work as and when required

Participate in the Maintenance on-call rota system

Maintain daily log book

Maintain parts list / log

Compliance with H&S procedures within the factory

Ensure that there is an adequate supply of operational machine parts to meet maintenance department requirements

To ensure that his/her actions and the operation of his/her machinery are carried out to the required safety standards

To follow the company’s personnel policies

Additional duties as directed by the Operations Manager

To assist in any projects as directed by the Company

 

OTHER FEATURES OF THE JOB

 

Shiftwork, overtime and Saturday work when required to meet business needs

Travel may be necessary for training purposes

 

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIAL TRAINING

 

Time served with an NC or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Fork Lift licence

MEWP licence

17th Edition Wiring Regulations preferred

Additional training as required to achieve main responsibilities and duties, knowledge and skills requirements

 

EXPERIENCE

 

Previous mechanical and electrical experience gained within a high volume

manufacturing environment

Working with Pneumatics

Working with Inverters

Reading electrical drawings

Mechanical and Electrical Fault Finding

Previous experience training colleagues in maintenance techniques and

practices would be advantageous

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

 

Technical, electrical and mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes

Knowledge of the relevant safety aspects in relation to maintenance work

Ability to work on own initiative

Convesant with relevant wiring regulations

Knowledge of 3 phase motors, electrical switchgear, distribution systems and

panel wiring

Ability to fault find control systems using electrical schematics

Must be computer literate

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Able to work in all areas of the factory without limitations

Capable of working in a fast moving and changing environment
