Manchester Airport invests £1.6m in T2 Escape Lounge

Manchester Airport is investing more than £1.5 million on a complete overhaul of its luxury Escape Lounge in Terminal 2.

The £1.6 million project will increase the size of the Escape Lounge by more than a third and will provide an improved space for passengers with the capacity increased to 212 passengers.

The new-look Escape Lounge will provide passengers with an area away from the hustle and bustle of the airport terminal before they fly. It will also see the addition of a kitchen and bar to the main lounge, which is being created from knocking two lounges into one.

The Escape Lounge, which is located above the Terminal 2 departures hall, will re-open to passengers at the end of April.  During this period qualifying airline customers will be provided with a voucher to use at a selection of restaurants and bars in the terminal.

The Escape Lounges located in Terminals 1 and 3 both remain open and available for passengers to pre-book via the Manchester Airport website.

Kevin Smith, Head of Retail - Lounges, said: “The Escape Lounge brand continues to go from strength to strength and we are committed to offering our passengers the best possible facilities to make sure they get their trips off to a great start.

“The £1.6m investment in our Terminal 2 Escape Lounge will provide our passengers with the latest facilities and I’m excited for the re-opening in April.”

Originally launched in Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 in 2009, MAG has successfully grown its Escape Lounge brand – adding a second in Terminal 1 in 2010 and in Terminal 3 in 2013, as well as launching at East Midlands Airport in 2014 and London Stansted in 2015.
