The P-8 maritime patrol aircraft is a military derivative of Boeing’s Next Generation 737-800. The auxiliary fuel tanks, which are fitted by the OEM, extend the flight range of the aircraft and allow for additional time on station. The tanks are supplied in ship sets of six, along with a number of LRUs and components.

Boeing is building the P-8A Poseidon for the US Navy and a derivative P-8I aircraft for the Indian Navy. Total orders for the P-8 platform, worldwide, could exceed 200.

Additionally, Marshall attained a GOLD rating for delivery performance under the Boeing Enterprise Supplier Tool (BEST) rating system.

Steve Fitz-Gerald, CEO of Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, comments: “We are thrilled to be delivering the 200th P-8 auxiliary fuel tank to Boeing. Having designed, tested and manufactured these tanks for Boeing, this milestone demonstrates our ability to deliver innovative engineering solutions.

"We are also incredibly proud to have achieved a GOLD rating for delivery performance under the BEST scheme, and this is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team.”

To achieve this performance recognition, Marshall delivered 100% of contracted items on schedule for a period of one year plus maintained inventory levels at Boeing for consumption based ordering part numbers within agreed min/max limits.

Fitz-Gerald concludes: “We worked hard to earn recognition for delivery performance with our valued customer, and we intend to maintain that level of performance through continuous improvements. This sends out an extremely positive message to all our customers: Marshall is an experienced, competent and versatile engineering partner, capable of supporting OEMs and meeting all of their expectations.”
