MASS wins Queen's Award

An East Anglian based defence technology company has been recognised for its achievements by being selected as a winner of the 2016 Queen's Award for Enterprise.

MASS, which is located at St Neots, near Cambridge, was awarded the honour for its innovative work in Electronic Warfare Operational Support, cyber security and secure ICT networks. The company carries out business for customers primarily in defence and security markets. 

It is the first time that MASS, part of Cohort plc, has won a Queen’s Award and is recognition of its work for overseas customers, as well as the Ministry of Defence and other Government departments.

The company reported an increase of 18% in revenues to £32.5 million in 2015, with adjusted operating profit up by 10%.  A significant contributor to the increase in revenue was MASS’ work in export electronic warfare operational support, particularly the Middle East.

Some 275 people, including operational and technical experts, academics, engineers, technologists and support staff are employed at facilities in St. Neots, Lincoln and at customer locations across the UK.
