MIAT Mongolian Airlines confirms eight year power-by-the-hour contract with AJW Aviation

MIAT Mongolian Airlines, the national flag carrier based in Ulaanbataar, has chosen AJW Aviation to provide full power-by-the-hour services for three Boeing 737NG aircraft.

This eight year agreement, which commences on August 1st, sees AJW Group further expand its support of MIAT alongside its existing PBH programme for the airline’s Boeing 767s. It is also further evidence of AJW’s penetration of PBH options into the legacy airline arena across the region, with MIAT sitting alongside distinguished fellow customers, such as Nepal Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Azerbaijan Airlines and Egyptair.

MIAT will have access to AJW’s extensive stock of Boeing spares conveniently sited for their route network across Europe, Central and East Asia. It is AJW’s policy to ring the globe with strategic hubs of commercial Airbus and Boeing spares in support of specific power-by-the-hour contracts, and to sustain the Company’s award-winning 24/7/365 AOG service.

AJW currently supports 69% of global fleet operators with appropriate Airbus and Boeing aircraft types and this is fully underpinned by AJW Technique, the organisation’s component repair and overhaul facility in Montreal that is focused on streamlining processes to minimise turn-times and further guarantee dispatch reliability for operators of all sizes.

Colin Craig, Commercial Director – AJW Aviation, sees this additional contract with MIAT cementing a long-term partnership with the carrier: “This highlights the Company’s focus on the central Asian region we are proud to serve another national flag carrier that looks beyond traditional in-house MRO solutions and recognises the outstanding value for money and excellent customer service that is embodied within a flexible power-by-the-hour agreement.”
