MTD invests to gain SC21 accreditation

Engineering firm Midland Tool and Design (MTD) has invested over £25,000 in an innovative new production reporting system to help it gain SC21 accreditation.

Midland Tool and Design’s new Factory Master system provides a range of data on estimating, sales orders, works orders, stock control, traceability and job costings.

The system, which has been customised in-house, generates in-depth reports which will help the Tipton-based company to adhere to the strict standards of the ISO9001 and AS9100 accreditations.

It will also help them gain the prestigious SC21 standard, demonstrating their commitment to improving the efficiency of the supply chain and giving them an advantage when tendering for work in the aerospace sector.

Managing director Darren Booton said: “There has been a lot of commitment by MTD to enter the data and get the system into an operating condition.

“Factory Master has now become the major operating system within the business and gives key personnel visibility of the manufacturing process.
