New awards looking for innovation in aerospace engineering
Collaborate to Innovate (C2I) combines an awards scheme and showcase conference that will highlight Britain’s most inspiring and successful collaborative projects.
The dominant message of C2I is that by working together across organisations, sectors and disciplines, engineers open up new opportunities and develop technological solutions to some of society’s most pressing issues.
C2I is open to any collaborative engineering project, whether from academia or industry, that is truly innovative, represents a collaboration between two or more separate organisations and has had, or is likely to have, a demonstrable impact in its area of application.
The scope of the awards has been cast as wide as possible in order to attract entries from a diverse and cross-disciplinary base.
In addition to identifying and rewarding the projects which address engineering challenges in aerospace and transport sector, awards will also be made across a broad range of areas including health, energy efficiency and sustainability, information and connectivity, safety, security and the built environment.
The campaign is open to entries with immediate effect with a final submission deadline of 31st May 2016.
An invited team of expert judges will then select shortlists and winners in each category. These will be announced at an exclusive VIP reception in London on 19th July 2016.
The finale of the C2I campaign will be a one-day conference on 17 November at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre in Coventry. During the day, the winning projects will be presented in detail as part of a specially commissioned programme of keynote presentations and advanced technology discovery sessions.
The headline partner for the C2I initiative is the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the advanced technology sponsor is the High Value Manufacturing Catapult.
The awards and conference are led by The Engineer,
