Osprey CSL to provide A400M PT Platform Safety Assessment support

Osprey CSL is pleased to announce that it has won the recent competition to provide continued Safety and Airworthiness support to the A400M ATLAS Project Team (PT) for the development of the A400M Platform Safety Assessment (PSA).

The contract will involve the development of the A400M ATLAS Platform Safety Assessment and delivering Safety Assessment Reports to support Military Type Certification and the Release to Service in order to meet the aircraft delivery programme.

This requires a detailed understanding of civil and military airworthiness and the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Regulatory Publications (MRP).

Peter Symons, Military Systems Team Leader at Osprey CSL said: “Osprey has built up an exceptionally deep knowledge and understanding of the A400M Platform and the Safety Assessment over the past five years, so we are delighted to win this new contract to continue our support to the A400M PT.  I am confident that Osprey’s outstanding work in providing safety and airworthiness support will allow us to deliver high quality technical support for the duration of our contract.”

Earlier this year, Osprey was awarded the IET ‘Innovation in Safety Award’ 2016 for their work with the A400M PT in recognition of an innovative safety strategy to overcome programme challenges. This involved developing an innovative approach to delivering the required safety assurance documentation to support the main aircraft delivery programme, to ultimately allow the RAF to accept and fly the aircraft.
