Pennant and Omega secure Middle East training contracts

Pennant Training Systems Limited has won two major contracts for Middle Eastern customers worth in excess of £13m.

A strategic partnership between Pennant Training Systems and Omega Resource Group requires the recruitment of a multitude of skilled engineers and technicians, with the ramp up commencing in July in earnest.

The two new major contracts, both requiring completion in 18 months, include the supply of a range of equipment, hardware and software, and maintenance support, to aeronautical engineering training at colleges in the Middle East.

Pennant Training Systems will provide its customers with Part Task Trainers to develop basic hand skills, mechanical and avionic systems for practicing maintenance activities and a virtual reality procedure trainer for aircraft marshalling and ground handling activities. The Part Task Trainer device replicates an element of plant, component or system, allowing trainees to become competent and confident prior to advancing to fully immersive simulator or live equipment.

Headquartered in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Pennant International Group plc is the AIM quoted supplier of integrated logistic support solutions, products and services, principally to the defence, rail, aerospace and naval sectors and to Government departments.

Pennant CEO, Chris Snook, emphasised the importance of the win: “We are very proud of securing two major contracts in the Middle East which will add to our growing client base and a successful financial year. For the delivery of the recruitment project, we wanted an organisation that understood our region, our sector and our ethos: Omega was best placed to meet our requirements.”

“We are delighted to continue our long standing relationship with Pennant Training Systems for their strategic Middle Eastern contracts,” said Alan Beresford, CEO of Omega Resource Group. “Like us, they are headquartered in Gloucestershire but provide a truly bespoke international offering. Pennant require a very specific and focused recruitment model and we look forward to supporting the organisation on its continuing expansion plans well into the future.”
