Philip McBride announced as ADS' Northern Ireland chairman

ADS Group, the trade association for the UK's Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space industries, today announced that Philip McBride is to become the Northern Ireland Council Chairman.

Philip is the General Manager of Thales in Belfast, he will work with other industry leaders on the ADS NI Council to drive the Northern Ireland Partnering for Growth strategy. The strategy was launched last year in partnership with government to grow and develop the Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space sectors in Northern Ireland, boosting collective turnover to more than £2bn annually.

Leslie Orr, Manager of ADS Northern Ireland said: “I am delighted to welcome Philip McBride as our new Chairman. I also want to pay tribute to our previous chairman David Beatty who did an outstanding job setting the direction and strategy for ADS NI. We now have 70 member companies contributing £1.3bn to the NI economy. I look forward to working with Philip and the Council to bring benefit of our members.

Philip McBride, General Manager of Thales in Belfast said: “The sector we represent is high technology, high value and high in exports. It is a critical lasting contributor to the Northern Ireland economy. I look forward to working with the other ADS Members to help further grow the sector in this region.”
