PIA aircraft diverted from Manchester to Stansted

The Ministry of Defence confirmed an RAF Typhoon jet was scrambled from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire to escort the diverted aircraft to Stansted.
Essex Police said they have since arrested two men at Stansted on suspicion of endangerment of an aircraft.
A Manchester Airport spokesperson said: “A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft which was due to land at Manchester Airport at 13.30 today has been diverted to our sister airport London Stansted, where the authorities are investigating.
"The flight number, PK709 was travelling from Lahore and had 297 passengers on board.
