QinetiQ awarded MoD commendation
The team has created a world-leading Operational Pre-Deployment Training (PDT) capability, delivering in excess of 3,500 hours of mission specific training to front line forces, ensuring that they are best prepared for the complexities of combat operations.
In response to an urgent requirement for realistic PDT for Army Fire Support Teams in Op HERRICK, the team converted and upgraded a networked-enabled synthetic Capability Concept Demonstrator (CCD) in the Air Battlespace Training Centre to a first-class, operational Distributed Synthetic Air Land Training (DSALT) capability. This urgent and unexpected change required the project team to show a high level of commitment, drive, determination and innovation to deliver a unique and innovative solution to meet the life-saving PDT needed by the Front Line.
This award recognises the team’s efforts, innovation, commitment, dedication, drive and determination to deliver a complex, comprehensive technical solution with a wide range of stakeholders.
The joint team consisted of the Flight Simulation & Synthetic Trainers Project Team, Air Command, QinetiQ, Boeing and Inzpire.

QinetiQ was represented at the awards ceremony by Sanjay Khetia (second from right), TSS chief architect, who was a key member of the joint team.
