As part of the iQ2015 recruitment campaign, QinetiQ will be visiting Universities across the country to demonstrate its astounding work under the theme of “Discover”, aiming to attract the brightest students.

For the last two years QinetiQ has demonstrated its commitment to graduate recruitment with the number of graduate places increasing year on year. This helps support the commitment as one of The 5% Club founders. The 5% Club is a nationwide campaign urging companies across the UK to commit to 5% of their workforce being apprentices, graduates or placement students on a formalised training programme within five years.

Leo Quinn, QinetiQ Chief Executive, said: “QinetiQ is built on the strength of its expertise – “people who know how”. For us that means ensuring we maintain our people’s capabilities and thus our ability to support our customers over the long term.”

“For all of us in industry, developing our young people is both a business and social imperative – skills enhancement leads to innovation, innovation leads to growth, growth leads to prosperity. This increase at QinetiQ underlines our commitment as a member of The 5% Club and we would urge other companies to join us by investing in a generation, thus helping both to drive UK growth and tackle youth unemployment.’”

QinetiQ also offers apprentice programmes, with apprenticeships in engineering, management, facilities, project management and information systems. QinetiQ partners with training providers to deliver apprenticeships but is also an educational provider in its own right, with an award winning Apprentice Training School at MoD Boscombe Down. The school has a completion rate of near 95%, against the national average of 75% and trains students to achieve an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Engineering. Many apprentice graduates have gone on to attain senior management roles in QinetiQ and become technical experts leading or advising on ground-breaking projects in air, land and maritime.
