RAeS' Prestwick Branch celebrates its fiftieth

Supported by Glasgow Prestwick Airport, the day will showcase the work of local companies that engineer, design, build, repair and maintain aircraft structures, engines and systems.
Also represented will be the companies that support the airport and airlines and control the civil and military airspace over Britain and the Atlantic. On the day, exhibits will include a Sea King helicopter, glider, model aircraft, airport fire tender, airfield operations vehicle, police vehicle, aircraft engines and flight simulators.
Glasgow Prestwick’s Chief Executive Iain Cochrane said: “It’s a pleasure and a privilege to host the day. It allows us to showcase many aspects of local aviation and highlight our rich heritage. And it also gives us a great opportunity to welcome our Ayrshire neighbours and thank them for their support. So come along to Glasgow Prestwick on the 27 to have fun, see what we all do, why we love it and perhaps develop a passion for aviation in Ayrshire.”
The 'Meet the Aviators' Aviation & Family Fun Day is on at Glasgow Prestwick Airport on 27 Saturday 27 October, 10.00am – 5.00pm. Admission is free.
