Reveal awarded Security Innovation Award 2015

Body-worn video specialists, Reveal, have been awarded the Security Innovation Award 2015 at an awards ceremony hosted by security trade organisation, ADS Group.

Reveal has been providing body-worn video systems for nearly a decade and is responsible for pioneering technologies including the RS2-X2 body camera – a unique body-worn device with a front facing screen, fully articulated camera head and AES256 encryption.

A large proportion of the UK’s police forces, prisons, local government and private security sectors use Reveal devices, with the recorded footage from the cameras increasingly being used as evidence with court cases. Reveal has built a solid network across the UK and internationally and has now distributed to 30 different countries.

Alasdair Field, CEO at Reveal commented:

“It is a great honour to be presented with this particular award as innovation is a fundamental principle at Reveal. We firmly believe that innovation is crucial to the success of our business and our commitment to continued advance has been a cornerstone of our achievements.

“We are very proud to support our police forces and provide them with a technology that transforms their jobs. It is particularly rewarding because the UK Police has pioneered the use of body cameras and leads the world in its adoption.

“We are extremely excited about the future of body worn video and Reveal’s place in this rapidly growing market. 2015 has already been an incredible year for us, having won the National Police Body Worn Video framework to supply all five East midlands Police Forces as well as major overseas tenders; this award on top is an amazing achievement of which we are all very proud of.”

Paul Everitt, chief executive of security trade organisation ADS Group added:

“With a global reputation for innovation, the UK security sector is one of the most advanced in the world. This award recognises not only world-class equipment and technology produced by UK companies, but equally importantly, the way that industry is responding to the challenges faced by those on the ground.

“Reveal stood out to us because of the way they work with key stakeholders to deliver a bespoke technology that is delivering major benefits to the UK.”

The award also recognised Crewshield Ltd, which was presented with a runner up award for its ‘Crewshield Citadel’, a refuge point to safeguard those at sea or land. Scanna MSC Ltd and Thermo Scientific were both highly commended.

The Security Innovation Award ceremony was held at the Security and Policing Reception 2015 on 10th March 2015. The reception hosted hundreds of guests from industry and marked the start of this year’s Security and Policing Exhibition which runs from 10-12 March 2015.
