SIG success leads to further RGF funding
Sharing in Growth (SiG) is an innovative and ambitious £110 million funded training programme to create highly valued manufacturing for this generation and the next. In 2014 it completed its first year of training to over 37 beneficiaries, the target being 30 – 40. To mark the success of its first year the company approached RGF for further funding to expand the programme and won.
With over 100,000 hours of training delivered in its first year the SiG team and delivery experts have helped the first six beneficiaries on the programme to secure and retain over £100M worth of contract value. All of this has been achieved with only five of the first six companies having completed their first annual review.
The contracts have been won against both British and foreign supply chain competition making them more globally competitive. McBraida's MD, Mark Green - a beneficiary on the programme, said: “We have won new business as a direct link to the operational improvements made via the SiG diagnostic and resulting work streams. The difference SiG has made to the strategic and operational thinking within McBraida from the board to the shop-floor is profound.”
Sharing in Growth (SiG) has just been awarded further funding to grow the programme. Bryan Jackson, Chairman, said: “We have exceeded £100 million worth of contract value won or retained by our initial beneficiaries and based on our first year's success we have been awarded more RGF funding. This provides an excellent opportunity for additional companies to be involved in this exciting and successful programme."
