Smiths Detection opens training centre for the Americas

Smiths Detection has completed a new Training & Service Centre for the Americas in Edgewood, Maryland.

The facility will improve product training and service capabilities for customers throughout both continents, helping them maximise the use of Smiths Detection systems as part of an overall layered approach to security.

The new 10,400 square foot centre is dedicated to educating and servicing customers from North, Central and South America. Product training and service will focus on the full range of Smiths Detection’s CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear and explosives) and X-ray technologies.

The new centre will also provide technical and customer service support in English and Spanish, including consumable and parts orders, return material authorisation, and field service dispatch and scheduling. The centre is already handling well over 7,000 customer enquiries a month via phone, email and web requests.
