Specialist Aviation appoints new materials manager

Specialist Aviation Ltd today announced the appointment of Graham Rowe to the position of materials manager.

Specialist Aviation Limited is part of the SA Group, a global provider of spares logistics, precision manufacturing and cabin refurbishment services for the aviation and aerospace industries.

Graham (right) has over 20 years’ experience in aviation material management and joins SA Group from Flybe where he was responsible for over 40 staff in the purchasing, parts trading and stores
departments, managing more than 70,000 lines of stock and an annual budget of £25m.

At Flybe he introduced a 24/7 AOG desk, oversaw the introduction of stock controlled bar coding, and managed the Initial Purchase for the introduction of two new aircraft types, the Bombardier Q400 and the Embraer Ejet.

Graham Rowe said: “I was keen to join Specialist Aviation because I was impressed by the professionalism of their approach. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to now bring my knowledge and understanding of operator and MRO requirements to the supply chain.”

Duncan Hammond, SA Group’s CEO, added: “Graham is joining us hot on the heels of Steve Buckingham’s appointment to the Group as director of operations. With his operator background and his extensive knowledge of many different regional aircraft types, Graham will be another major asset to the company. We’re delighted to welcome him on board”.
