STI Philippines achieves AS9100 Rev C Certification

STI has announced that its manufacturing facility in Cebu, Philippines has been certified AS9100 Rev C – the industry standard for Aerospace, Defense and Space - matching the same certification as its UK factory.

Revision C – currently the most demanding level for this ultra high reliability sector - requires ownership and measurement of the entire product realisation process to such a precise extent that, according to Lyndon Guba, STI Philippines site director, “ this standard is very challenging to achieve. It requires a clear and explicit commitment from the entire management team and I was delighted with the way our team stuck to the task under the expert leadership of Christine Salem, our Filipino quality manager. This certification further demonstrates the clear synergies of working closely with the UK and ensuring we mirror their operational standards.”

The internationally recognised standard incorporates ISO 9001:2008 in its entirety, with additional requirements to ensure the repeatable manufacture of equipment for high-reliability environments.

Simon Best, STI Group managing director, said: “I endorse Lyndon’s comments completely - this milestone clearly demonstrates that our UK and SE Asian platforms are working in unity and that our manufacturing link is becoming seamless. We continue to emphasise our commitment to the Philippines and to demonstrate to all of our customers the economic benefits available to them for PCB assembly, Box Build and Product Integration either in the Philippines or the UK. As one of the few players in this Asian region with the AS9100 level of expertise, we remain firmly committed to attaining the highest standards in our industry to meet all the key requirements of aerospace customers in Europe and the USA.”
